Dear Students and Parents,

HS PrincipalWelcome to a new and exciting school year at the American International School of Jeddah (AISJ).   At the high school, we offer a college preparatory American curriculum which prepares students to enter universities in the U.S., Canada, and around the world.  Students are challenged with a curriculum that is engaging, develops critical thinking and problem solving skills, and prepares them to be contributing members of a global society.
The curriculum offered at AISJ includes the standard core courses in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, as well as several Advanced Placement (AP) level courses in each of these subject areas.  The elective program offers students a variety of choices including Visual and Performing Arts, Computer Science, Foreign Languages, and Model United Nations.  Students looking for an extra challenge can apply to take one or more of our 17 AP courses.

While a meaningful and challenging curriculum can make a good school, research has found that what makes a school outstanding is the staff.  At AISJ, we have an excellent group of dedicated teachers who are prepared to do what it takes to ensure that every student succeeds.  The teachers are what make AISJ the outstanding school that it is.  Research also shows that the path to success in school is dependent upon the support of the parents and the efforts of the student.  Parents can be supportive by ensuring that their child is at school everyday and on time.  Parents can also show their support by becoming involved in their child’s academics.  Students can help to ensure their success by trying their best.  One thing that students can ask themselves everyday is, “Have I given my best effort today?”  If they can answer “Yes,” then that’s great…keep it going.  But if their answer is “No,” then what can they do differently the next day?  A student’s answers to these questions will be a factor in his or her success.

I encourage you to browse our school website to learn more about AISJ.  The Course Catalog describes the courses we offer at the high school as well as our requirements for graduation.  The High School Handbook contains a wealth of information regarding our school policies, some of which have changed this year.  Thank you for visiting our website and we hope that you have a great year at the best school in Jeddah…the American International School of Jeddah.

Regards,
