A Message from the AISJ Librarian

Mr. Michael Brantley

Hello all.  I am Michael Brantley, the librarian here at AISJ.  I am joined by Ms. Prescilla DeLeon and Ms. Shehnaz Qureshi, two excellent library assistants.

The American International School of Jeddah Library offers a vast array of resources for students from daycare to 12th grade, faculty, staff, and parents.  Patrons are able to access information from over 26,000 volumes, online databases, videos, DVDs, periodicals, newspapers, and 50+ computers with Internet access.

The mission of the Library is to create independent learners and users of information.  Through the variety of programs offered, patrons are encouraged to read for pleasure, use information appropriately and ethically and eventually become producers of information.

We ask that our patrons respect other library users and our facility.  Please refrain from using cell phones and MP3 players in the library.  Food and drink are not allowed in the library.  We also charge overdue fines for all library users except elementary students.  The fine is 1 SR per day.

There are rules to follow in our library, but we also want to encourage the use of our valuable library.  Please come in and relax and read something or work on a project.  We look forward to meeting you.

Library Hours : 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday to Wednesday

Sincerely,

Michael Brantley
AISJ Librarian (Ext. 253)
