The MS Counseling Office coordinates a variety of special programs within the school. These may include registration, orientation and placement of new students, scheduling, bullying programs, character education, long-term educational program planning and report cards. We also work closely with the MAP Testing Coordinator for the smooth administration and interpretation of the scores.
The counselor serves as a liaison between various groups of people that are involved in student success. In an effort to meet the needs of all students, the counselor works with teachers, administrators, support staff, parents or guardians, students, and community members.
The counselor provides a variety of classroom advisory lessons throughout the year to provide students with information relevant to their needs or concerns and that cover the three counseling domains: academic, socio-emotional and career. Specific lessons may include study skills, soft skills, goal setting, bullying prevention, character education.
